For all of you who are new to the school, we are the Parent Teacher Association and we are committed to helping South Dartmoor provide the best possible experience for all its students no matter what their background so that they can all go on to fulfil their potential and make a positive contribution to their communities.
Our new Year 12 students have had a busy first week. They have been getting to know their new classes, teachers and tutor groups and taking advantage of the greater degree of independence that studying in the Sixth Form provides.

Working with Next Steps South West, we concluded a fantastic day with our Year 12s. This was geared towards helping them develop a road map to get where they may want to be in the future, helping students with guidance and preparation for their next steps in life after South Dartmoor Community College.

We welcomed civil engineer Gemma Davis to talk to our Year 10 and 12 students about her career and fascinating work as a bridge engineer.
Fifteen South Dartmoor Community College parents and members of the wider Ashburton community are challenging themselves to walk 35 and 45 miles respectively over two days, emulating the Ten Tors Challenge which has recently celebrated its 60th year.

The return of Body Language was an incredible occasion for us. With our last big production two years ago, there was much anticipation for its return and we were blown away by the response.
