SDCC Musical Talent

Two Year 13 students and three former students have formed a band called Tempus, which now has management and promotion on a regional basis. By Mr Hodges

Having all cut their musical teeth in the nurturing musical arms of Mrs Lewis’s music department here at SDCC, performing and delighting audiences in the hall since 2017, these talented musicians have started their official journey towards fame!

The band, which performed first as Year 7s, has grown and evolved through GCSE and A Level/ BTEC courses and tuition at SDCC to the point where Cameron Mills, the Director of Music Schools and Studios Exeter, said: "It would be rude to keep them from the general public any longer!”

Playing musically tight and fluid funk jazz tunes, mixed with classic rock floor fillers, the boys spent their first night in the studio of the Cameron Mills Group in preparation for recording demo tracks, videos and photo shoots for a full scale promotional attack on the Exeter and Devon music scene.

The first Exeter booking will be a showcase headlining gig in Move Club on the Exeter Quays before Christmas. For those unable to wait to see them headline, they are the opening act on stage at the Newton Abbot Rugby Football Club Fireworks Extravaganza on Saturday 4th November (tickets available online through NARFC).

The band consists of:

Ash G Year 13 SDCC

Thomas Y Year 13 SDCC

Leo H, former SDCC student

Tal W, former SDCC student

Sol V, former SDCC student
