Our school is pleased to be working as part of the Westcountry Schools Trust (WeST). 

In January 2023 schools in WeST became one of four hubs with HAB members.

Since the growth of the Trust; in June 2025 these four hubs became 11 WeST Community Councils (WeST CC) with WeST CC Members as shown in the document below.  SDCC is WeST CC 7 and our Chair is Dominic Course as before.

Each WeST CC is supported by WeST CC members and serves to provide a connection between the Trustees, schools and their communities.  WeST CC members meet three times a year to consider reports from executive leaders and matters arising from WeST CC members’ visits to school.  After each WeST CC meeting, the Chair and Vice-Chair of the WeST CC meet with CEO and Chair of Trust, ensuring a flow of local knowledge and oversight from the WeST CC to the trust board.
