The Marriage of Figaro by Mozart

A group of SDCC students have been working hard to put on a fully staged version of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro

South Dartmoor Opera – Wednesday 27 March 2024, 6.30pm, College Hall

This is one of the most famous operas and will be performed by students here at South Dartmoor alongside Torbay and Torquay Boys Grammar School orchestral musicians. South Dartmoor has a proud tradition of performing opera and this will be our 10th staged opera. Opera is much like musicals, and our singers will perform the beautiful music using natural voices whilst acting and telling the story.  Excellent dance numbers will also be included alongside a local community choir singing the choruses and a guest soloist performing in the interlude.

We have also been delighted to receive funding from The Helen Foundation’s Ella Philp Fund – further information can be found below.

The performance is on Wednesday 27th March, 6.30pm, South Dartmoor College Hall. The tickets are available free of charge from Mr. Wickenden in Music Room 1, which includes a programme and free drink.  Or please contact me on rwickenden@southdartmoor.devon.sch.uk to reserve a ticket on the door.

Our students have been working so hard for this performance and the result is wonderful.  We look forward to welcoming you to our performance.
