Sixth Form Taster Day
Approximately 150 Year 11 students participated in an all day event in the Sixth Form Centre and across the college.
Year 11s were offered 34 different sessions to choose from, plus a session on Sixth Form life and a session to research post 18 options, such as higher and degree apprenticeships, foundation degrees, gap years and travelling and the breadth of courses available at universities in the UK and abroad.
Subjects on offer included traditional academic A levels such as Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, Geography, PE, Psychology Classics, Sociology and Music; applied courses such as Health and Social Care, Sport and new courses such as Criminology and Engineering. Atrium subjects were well represented by 3D Art, Graphics and Design Engineer, Construct.
Students were also introduced to the extra curricular opportunities available in the Sixth Form, including the new coffee bar and Common Room Committee, mentoring opportunities for Years 7-11, the Sixth Form student leadership team, music and drama events and the chance to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh and Ten Tors.
