Covid Update 13th December

Coronavirus update 13th December 2020

We have been advised by Public Health England (PHE) that due to a confirmed positive case of Covid-19 in a Year 10 student, the year group will need to self-isolate. Year 10 students should not come into school tomorrow (14th December) and, due to the proximity to Christmas, will now not return until Tuesday 5th January 2021. In line with the national guidance your child must stay at home and self-isolate until the end of 17th December (10 days after potential contact). Work for pupils in Year 10 will be available through Teams. Students are expected to follow their normal timetable ‘remotely’.

We know that you may find this concerning, but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England. Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness.

Students in the remaining year groups should attend school as normal. Our Coronavirus risk management arrangements will continue to be maintained and the college will undergo its daily deep clean as normal. However, if any Year 10 students present with symptoms and have a sibling within the school, then the sibling should self-isolate along with any other members of the household.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
