Year 9 students Coby and Ned successfully completed the National BMX Racing Series, which spans 10 competitive rounds across the country. Both secured places on the top two steps of the podium—an outstanding achievement reflecting their dedication and hard work.

South Dartmoor was proud to host our annual fixture against the prestigious Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), founded in 1787 and based at Lord’s Cricket Ground. Known for creating and upholding the Laws of Cricket and promoting the game globally, the MCC brought together a team from across the country to face our side of students, staff and alumni.
Richard Penhale, our ICT Systems Manager of 27 years and self-confessed tech enthusiast (or obsessive, depending on who you ask), attended the Octopus Energy Tech Summit in London on Monday—the flagship event launching London Climate Action Week. The summit brought together leading voices from the worlds of energy and technology to explore how innovation can drive sustainability.
The engines may have been electric, but the energy was anything but quiet as our two student teams hit the tarmac at Castle Combe Race Circuit for the Greenpower Kit Car F24 event. With a 7:30am start, the bleary-eyed but buzzing students arrived ready to race, wrench and represent.
It’s more than a little ironic that I ran the Wild Horse 200 to raise funds and awareness for Dementia UK, and now I’m sitting here, staring at my screen, trying to remember what on earth happened during the race. There are more blank spots in my memory than a dodgy VHS tape from the '90s.

Hey everyone! It’s Mr. Stokes again, and I’m excited to share my upcoming adventure with you. I’m gearing up to tackle the Wild Horse 200, a challenging 200-mile ultra-marathon through South Wales from May 21 to May 26, 2025.

Running in the North Coast 110 Mile Race was an experience I’ll never forget. The weather was absolutely perfect; dry and cool, ideal for such a long run. The route took us along the stunning South West Coast Path and Tarka Trail, and the scenery was nothing short of breathtaking. Every turn revealed a new, beautiful vista that kept me motivated and inspired.
The Trail Trotter runners recently experienced a fantastic run on Dartmoor during our second REACH (Realising Educational Aspirations through Expanding Cultural Horizons) session, and were blessed with unexpectedly clear weather. As the clouds parted, the group was treated to breathtaking views of the rugged landscape.
