Greenpower at Castle Combe

This weekend saw us back at the iconic Castle Combe race circuit for a fantastic day of Greenpower racing – and what a day it was! With cool temperatures and perfect driving conditions, it couldn’t have been better for our two teams and their cars.

Our Year 11 team showed just how far they’ve come, delivering a hugely improved performance on last year. A real testament to their hard work and determination.
Meanwhile, our Year 8 team gained invaluable experience, showing great teamwork and enthusiasm throughout the day. The future is looking very bright!

Both cars ran reliably all day – a brilliant result for everyone involved. It was also fantastic to see such strong support from parents on the sidelines – thank you!
A great day had by all, with plenty to build on for the future.

Here is the Race Report, written by the Year 8 team:

This year at Castle Combe Circuit, Team Red 1 successfully completed two races and achieved a record lap time of 5:14, set by Harriet, our first female driver. The team performed exceptionally well, reaching a top speed of 21 mph.
Significant improvements were made in the pit lane, with our Head of Pit Crew, Samma, reducing pit stop times by approximately half compared to last year. This was further supported by the leadership of our most experienced driver, Wayland, who played a key role in race management and team coordination.

As a result of these combined efforts, the team improved its leaderboard position by two places compared to last year. Overall, it was a highly successful and enjoyable event, and we are looking forward to returning next year with the aim of building on this progress and achieving even greater results.
