D of E Training Expedition

Our Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award groups traded their desks for the rugged beauty of the open trail and headed out onto Dartmoor for a challenging training expedition that pushed their limits and tested their resolve.
Setting off from college, the young adventurers made the long trek to Dartmoor and back, putting their navigation, campcraft and first aid skills into practice while carrying full packs across demanding terrain and learning the value of teamwork and resilience along the way. Conditions were kind, with largely uninterrupted sunshine and a refreshing spring chill.

Beyond the technical requirements, the expedition highlighted the burgeoning leadership and teamwork within the groups. The transition from theory to practice is where the real growth happens, and seeing the students handle the elements and the distance with such high spirits is a testament to their preparation.

Both the Bronze and Silver groups successfully completed their training expeditions, finishing tired but proud after a superb collective effort.
Well done, trekkers!
