  • Body Language 2018 – Weather Update

    Published 27/02/18

In light of the most recent weather warnings Miss Cowell & Mr Collins have a contingency plan in place and we will be making a decision about the impact on both Body Language performances that are due to place on Thursday & Friday of this week. A decision about whether or not Body Language will be postponed will be made during the school day tomorrow.  Our decision will be informed by weather forecasts, met office warnings and advice from the senior leadership team here.  If the met office warnings remain as they currently are we are looking to postpone the event, it will not be cancelled.

Please keep up to date by viewing the SDCC College Website and the Performing Arts Facebook page.  We have never been placed in this situation with Body Language before and we are really hoping that the show will go on but the safety of our performers and their families are at the forefront of our decisions.

  • World Book Day Celebration at SDCC!

    Published 09/02/18

Thursday March 1st is World Book Day and we want to celebrate in style at SDCC. We are organising a range of events in school on the day and we are offering students the chance to join in by dressing up as a character from the genre or texts they have been studying in their English lessons this year:

Year 7 - come as a Fantasy character.

Year 8 - come as a Gothic character.

Year 9 - Come as something to do with the novel Of Mice and Men.

Year 10 and 11 - you can come as a character from any of your texts: A Merchant of Venice; A Christmas Carol or An Inspector Calls.

This is NOT a mufti day - you must be dressed up or in uniform.
