The A team finished with one win and three draws, while the B team earned three wins and one draw. The most remarkable achievement, however, was that neither team conceded a single goal across the entire tournament—a fantastic reflection of their teamwork and determination.

Students gained experience in service, health and safety, stock control, table settings, taking orders and a range of professional hospitality skills. They were fantastic ambassadors for the college throughout the visit.

From the moment the team arrived, there was a palpable sense of wellbeing. Maybe it was the alpine glow, the spa culture or simply the fact that everything was immaculately clean. Even the cows looked like they had just come back from a wellness retreat. Gastein wasn’t just beautiful—it was restorative. For a trail runner, it was paradise with altitude.

The weather was absolutely perfect; dry and cool, ideal for such a long run. The route took us along the stunning South West Coast Path and Tarka Trail, and the scenery was nothing short of breathtaking. Every turn revealed a new, beautiful vista that kept me motivated and inspired.
