This week's school update...
Dear Parents and Carers,
Finally work on the new dining hall has begun, the tents have been taken down and preparation for the groundworks are underway. The building itself is being manufactured in Wernick’s factory and will be brought to site for installation once the foundations are complete.
The College has received feedback from Andrew Redpath, ex HMI, following the review commissioned to look at behaviour at the College. The report is very positive, reassuring and useful. ‘During the visit the college presented as an orderly, convivial environment where students get on with learning. Students moved around the college without incident, despite the demands on space, particularly at lunchtime. They respect the environment and show consideration towards each other. Students appreciate the wide range of subjects, clubs and activities that cater for their different needs and interests’. The report has also highlighted some areas where tweaks can be made and the College staff are acting upon these.
The College hosted a further round of Year 7 Parent and Carer Teaching and Learning Events this week which attendees appeared to find helpful. Any parent is welcome in College on a Tuesday morning to look at learning and talk to a member of the Leadership Team about any aspect of College life. Please just ring reception to let us know you are coming!
