Latest Performance Tables news
South Dartmoor Community College is delighted to see the hard work and effort of the last few years reflected in the latest Performance Tables news. The Sixth Form is ranked number 1 in Devon for the all-important A Level progress measure. This year’s A level results demonstrate that the College has one of the highest performing Sixth Forms in the South West and our GCSE results demonstrate that South Dartmoor is the only state secondary school in the Newton Abbot and Dartmoor area where students make better progress than the national average. The DfE performance tables reflect this message despite some rather misleading messages and statements across the area! 20% of all students taking GCSEs in 2016 gained 5 A*-A and 11% gained 8A*-A with 3 gaining 11A*s. We have also just heard that another South Dartmoor student has gained a place at Cambridge University.
We are extremely fortunate to work with a talented and committed teaching and non-teaching team of staff and South Dartmoor students and our parent body are all hugely deserving of this success.
