6th Form Results 2017

South Dartmoor Sixth Form’s results this year continue the trend of our students exceeding their targets. Our 2016 results placed the Sixth Form in the leading position for progress in Devon Local Authority and the 2017 results look to be similarly impressive.

We are proud of the achievement of all of our students, with a 99.9% pass rate in all full Level 3 qualifications we offer. Exceptional performances include Joseph Allen, who achieved 3 A* grades in his A level subjects, plus an A* in his EPQ. He will be taking his place at Peterhouse College, Cambridge in the autumn. Natasha Smith attained an A* and three A grades in her 4 A Level subjects. Jesse Woodward also performed outstandingly, achieving an A* and two A grades and while he is beginning Art College this autumn he is already receiving professional commissions on his Fine Art work.

It was not only in A Levels the college experienced success. Kingsley Burrows performed exceptionally throughout his Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Sport, and deservedly completed this course at the maximum Distinction* level. This was closely followed by Scott Robinson and Adam Seedhouse-Evans, who also achieved Distinctions in this course. Josie Crouchen will be taking up her place on a teaching degree securing B grades in her CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare & Education. Finally, our international CP football star, Alex Woodgates, completed A Level Biology in one year to add to his D*D*D* Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Sport.

Director of Sixth Form, Kirsty Matthews is delighted with this year’s results, “In view of the political changes to the post 16 curriculum we are pleased to see that our students’ hard work and commitment is being positively recognised in their awarded qualifications. Our students are an absolute credit to the Sixth Form and I feel excited for their futures and the positive impact they will have on the world. We wish them all the very best and look forward to officially celebrating their achievements at our annual presentation evening.”
