Y7 Girls Rugby Festival @ Brickfields
Played six, 12 a-side games (tag rugby) however, they had scrums and lineouts, very quick learning curve as the girls had'nt been taught either! However, they soon got the hang of a 12 a-side game. They beat Teignmouth, Dartmouth, Newton Abbot and Coombedean and only lost to Ivybridge. Player of the day Anya B.

U18 Boys vs Churston GS Lost 3 : 15
After a strong start where South Dartmoor lived in the opponents 22, we could only manage a 3 point lead. Injury struck key players which allowed Churston back into the game. Despite superior possession and territory, South Dartmoor could not make up the deficit.

Y8 vs Kingsbridge
A superb defensive display including some outstanding last ditch tackles, saw the team claim a well-earned draw against a very good Kingsbridge side. Corey W scored two great breakaway trys.

All 20 squad players played their part in a fantastic victory over one of the best teams in the league. Aggressive tackling and rucking, cool decision making under pressure and an inspirational captains performance, topped off with two try's.

U13 Tournament @ Forches Cross
After a slow start to the competition, the U13 squad were looking down and out after 2 defeats in their first 3 games. However, the whole squad regrouped and hit back by winning their 3 remaining pool A games to finish joint second in their group with Coombeshead. However, Coombeshead qualified for the main cup semi-finals due to the fact that they had beaten us 12-7 in the first game of the day. Therefore, that left us competing for the Plate where we met Paignton in the semi-finals which we won comfortably. The final was against Teignmouth and after a blistering start we were 2 scores clear with the scoreline 21-7 at half time and it looked as though we were out of sight. However, the second half saw a big turnaround with Teignmouth scoring 2 tries to pull it level late in the game, meaning the game went to sudden death extra-time. Teignmouth kicked off and the ball was immediately into the hands of Corey W who beat 4 or 5 men before scoring the winning try from inside his own half sparking wild celebrations.
Well done to all the boys for a fantastic achievement.

Y9 Boys Football vs Coombeshead
Lost 4 - 1 Star Player Matty J
SDCC lost this friendly match in pouring rain against a well-organised Coombeshead side. Debuts were given to Marc S, Connor D, Pat L and Alex L-M in this game that was played in a great manner.
The goalscorer for SDCC was Matt E who cut in from the right and unleashed a great left foot shot into the bottom corner. The boys were a real credit.

After a tight first half and with the score at 1 - 1, the boys took immediate control of the game early in the second half with some very well taken goals. SDCC entered a years 7 - 9 team into this Ability Counts Football Tournament, and the boys performed excellently. They were in a group along with Longcause, Brook Green, Chelfham Mill and Ivybridge CC. Although we failed to win a game, the effort and application put in by the boys was admirable. The team of boys that played were: Connor G, Sammy L, Tom A, Jamie L, Charlie O, Charlie D, Tom T, Alex W and Lawrence H. Alex W was nominated as the player of the day. MHL

Won 5 - 1 South Devon Cup
Another solid performance from the boys saw them run out comfortable winners by 5 goals to 1. Despite going 1 - 0 down, the lads were clearly the stronger team but were failing to take their chances. However, the arrival of Fin S midway through the first half, changed the game as he scored 2 quick goals either side of half-time. Joint MOM Darren R also come on as a replacement and he made some vital interceptions when the game was very close. Josh L, Jack B and Chester W scored the other goals.

All 3 squads achieved fantastic success by winning 8 out of the 9 ties and drawing the other one. As a whole group, they scored a massive 33 goals and only conceded 2. Benji P scored the goal of the day with a stunning free-kick that flew into the top corner which a match winner. Well done to ALL the boys. VEV

U19 Boys vs St Cuthbert Mayne Won 44 - 31
A disorganised start put SDCC on the backpost against a strong Cuthbert Mayne outfit and the team trailed for most of the first half. A much more switched on second half saw SDCC go into the lead and controlled attack punished the Cuthbert Mayne defence. In their last game for the College after years of excellent basketball service, Rob M, A J H (6 points), Sam H (12 points) and top scorer, and player of the match Ben I (16 points) put in superb second half displays.

After a fierce competition, the boys finished in 3rd place with 30 points, only 3 points behind the eventual winners Paignton and only 1 point behind second placed, Lipson. Indeed, in only 2 of the games we lost against Paignton by only 1 point been the other way around, we would have won the tournament. Well done to all the lads for a great effort. VEV

Junior boys with Matt L, Jack M, Harry L, Mike R and County player Jamie B were runners-up.

3 teams entered for volleyball County Finals Tournament, A Team Won 4, drew 2 lost 1. B Team Won 1, C Team Won 1 game. All teams played extremely well against the top volleyball schools in the county seeing as it was their first games against another school.
