Year 12 and 13 home learning is set during each lesson. Approximate 60 mins work per lesson taught.
Parents and students have highlighted the following benefits of having regular times of learning at home:
- They extend the curriculum
- They give students a sense of achievement
- They encourage personal organisation
- They promote independent study
- They allow parents to be involved with their children’s education
Year 7
We will teach your son/daughter how to learn at home, how to manage their time, where to find the resources they need and what to do if there is a problem. We will also show them how to use the library effectively.
Years 8/9
We will show the students the important connections between response, achievement and home learning. We will encourage students to use their research and study skills to improve the quality of their work.
Years 10/11
We will develop the skills involved in producing coursework, revision and time management.
Support
Staff are always willing to answer questions and offer support. There is also a new Library.
Reporting
We will report to you regularly on how students have responded to the opportunities to learn at home. This will be 3 times (see calendar section).
