College Aims and Mission Statement
Our aims were written by the College community with the involvement of parents, students, staff, church ministers and representatives of local businesses. The aims have been approved and endorsed by the Governing Body.
South Dartmoor Community College aims to ensure the personal success of every student at College and beyond by:
- providing the highest quality of teaching;
- learning from the unique resources of our South Dartmoor areaand contributing to them;
- providing a forward looking education that enables students to respond to a changing world;
- promoting clear codes of behaviour that develop responsible attitudes;
- encouraging self-discipline and self-esteem;
- providing for all members of the College community a happy, caring, stimulating, learning environment of which they can be proud;
- working within a broadly Christian framework in which the spiritual and moral values of our democratic country are practised and promoted.
In all we do we emphasise respect for others, courtesy and sound relationships. Our students are encouraged to accept personal responsibility, to serve others and to tackle their learning with a sense of creativity and inventiveness.
As a Sports College our mission statement is: “Achieving world class standards through participation and performance.”
